food for thought.
I recently interviewed a Chef for a role, and during our conversation we spoke about what “British” food means to us. For me it was important to let him know that “British” meant “British Isles” to me
My upbringing on a council estate in the 70s had more cultural twists and turns than a pack of Salt & Vinegar Twirls. And I loved it. I’m not saying I’m adverse to a chip butty or sausages and mash, not at all. Just make sure there’s cheese in the mash!
So, to cut a long story short, our food at Sky Eden is British. The kind of British that firstly, appreciates we’re a group of islands (I mean, who can resist a buttery Colcannon from the Emerald Isles?) and secondly, celebrates myriad after myriad of other cultural influences that have shaped British fare for a long, long time
A wink, a nod and a little creative license here and there and Bob might be your uncle. Soon
Our kitchen is in the testing phase and the swim up bar stools for the pool are arriving on Wednesday (A pool isn’t very Britsh, I know! I know! but it’s super cool and hey ho we are in Dubai)!
We look forward to seeing you soon
Final thought: Jam Roly Poly will be a dessert staple
Final, final thought: I was going to include a meat and two veg pun, but I decided to leave it out
